Magalie Dubois
I met Magalie Dubois-or as I like to call her, Megaweed-two winters ago at a contest in Colorado. Immediate impressions were as follows: genuine, friendly, energized, happy and totally down to party. We ended up kicking it for a night or two, and then she got a ride with me and my friend Izzy back to Salt Lake City. She slept the whole way but would wake up whenever me and Izzy would have some tea. It ceased to amaze us that no matter how may times we stopped when stuff was flying out of the back of the car, she would not wake up. But as soon as the aroma of our brewings hit the air, she would arise from the back. Squinty-eyed, she would say, in her French-Canadian accent, "Eh, can I get some tea?" Thus, the nickname. She's got style and talent. Be it at the bar getting 'er done or on the hill showing 'em what's up, this girl knows how to do it and always gives her all. No doubt we'll be seeing Megaweed around the globe killing it in the next couple years. She packs pound for punch, so watch out. Oh, and I heard she was dating a guy named Cheeseburger. Oh, what? That's awesome. -Laura Hadar
