Come out to Stoneham Resort in Quebec during the Snowboard Jamboree on Sunday, February 26^th for a fun day of snowboarding and support your local women's snowboarding scene!

Get comfortable in our private box and rail park designed for all ages and all abilities, whether you're a beginner in the park or already love to slide rails. Ride with your girlfriends and make new ones during the morning clinic while you learn new tricks and get RUGGED with professional female coaches. Take your new skills to the afternoon fun jam format contest where everyone brings home a sweet goody bag and has the chance to win killer prizes in all categories. January 21^st saw the launch of the 2012 Kinky Rail Jam clinic and contest series presented by NIKITA! Girl shredders as young as 9 years old came out to Big White Ski Resort to ride the private box and rail course. It was the best setup the TELUS park crew has created for this event to date – with a few mellow ride-on boxes, a kink box, a perfect-for-learning long rail, and a street style down bar and down-flat-down rail. There was something for everyone!

The morning began with a clinic led by coaches Christine, Jen, and Janelle. Some girls were learning to get comfortable with their 50-50s while others were perfecting their frontboards and tailpresses. The game of 'S.P.Y' introduced the intermediate riders to new tricks, and in the end Amanda Cormier finished the game with the least amount of letters to win herself a sweet SPY Optics prize pack!

Everyone got right into it in the afternoon with music pumping and TELUS park crew Cody emceeing. The jam-format contest began and tricks were being thrown down in every category...Frontboards, Noseslides, switch Boardslides...these girls were slaying the features! Some of the beginners were even hitting the rail with their newly-earned confidence. The advanced jam was what it all came down to, with a Nikita outerwear kit and $200 cash at the end of the rainbow. Lizzay Canters, Laura Price, and Zuzy Rocka stomped a slew of different maneuvers to bring them onto the podium at the end of the day. Another awesome Kinky Rail Jam at Big White thanks to the TELUS Park Crew and all of the  sponsors!

This season Rugged Riders are offering a new one-day Untracked camp format to accommodate your busy schedule. We will be incorporating the same big mountain coaching, safety skills, yoga and healthy food in a condensed, one-day camp.

What Can I expect?
Female skiers and snowboarders will start the day with an invigorating yoga practice, followed by a light breakfast. After we are fueled for the day we will split into sport and ability specific groups where coaches will help you to develop your free ride skills in the morning session.

A vegetarian lunch is provided for all campers to help you stay energized. After your fueled up your groups will head out for an afternoon session that will build upon the skills you were working on in the morning session.
At the end of the day all the groups will meet inside again for a cool down yoga session and prizes!

What Kind of skills will we work on?
Coaches will guide you to work on the skills needed to explore tree runs, drops, steep terrain and powder.  They will discuss how to stay safe while riding and how to evaluate hazards while riding.  
When you are ready and have an understanding of the basic freeride skills, our freestyle trained coaches will help you to take your terrain park skills to natural features.

Carrying the theme of the nationally successful 'Kinky Rail Jam' clinic and contest series, this program will launch this winter with a schedule of 3 camps in B.C. and one in Quebec.

The Edelweiss camp is for girls who already love snowboarding but want to improve their terrain park skills. Campers will ride with other girls like them in a fun, chill environment during this 6-week program on Tuesday nights. Professional female coaches will show campers the basics of the park and help them progress to the next level of freestyle riding. They will also be introduced to the exciting world of competitive snowboarding with entry into the local 'Geeks Love Tweaks' contest included in the fee! Whether they have never been in the park, or they want to learn new tricks and perfect their style, riders must be prepared to have a good time, shred hard, and win huge prizes from Nitro snowboards and L1TA outerwear!
