We recently tracked down Molly Milligan to find out her 10 favourite songs of the season. “These songs are currently featured on my growing "Summer 2012" playlist. I like shredding to music that I can dance to. Or at the very least jump up and down to. Listen to it in this order, start with the power song, move on to some dance, some hip-hop, some happy/sad/dramatic, and then finish off with another power song.”
Awolnation, Sail
"This is a kick ass song and so fitting when it was used for Travis Rice's Supernatural. Makes me want to kick some ass."
Selena Gomez, Love You Like a Love Song
"I discovered this song while most likely procrastinating on getting important things done, and instead watching Pop-Up Video. It's catchy."
Kazaky, Dance And Change
"I discovered this song while reading people rant about Madonna's new song Girl Gone Wild and how it was very similar to Dance for Change but I think it's just the back-up dancers that are similar. I dunno. This music video is dope: dudes dancing in heels and killing it."
Kanye West and Jay-Z, Ni**as in Paris
"This music video is so sick. The kaleidoscope effect added to their live performance makes you feel like you're right there in the crowd watching them, jumping up and down."
Beastie Boys feat. Santigold, Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win
"After the passing of MCA I did what I'm sure a lot of people did, listen to a lot of his music. This video is directed by Spike Jonze. Amazing. And I'd never heard this song before. Also amazing."
Ellie Goulding, Lights
"A little top 40 at the moment. A song that just makes me happy."
Gotye, Somebody That I Used To Know
"Totally played to death this year but dammit, who hasn't felt this way? I like turning this one up a lot on the car and singing to it loudly. Video is low budget but super creative. Love it."
The Naked And Famous: Girls Like You
"Just saw these guys live and they killed it. The song is sweet."
Tears for Fears, Mad World
"One of my favorite songs of all time. So dramatic."
Florence and the Machine, No Light, No Light
"Chick can sing. Powerful song."
As a bonus track throw in Small Town DJ's, Best of 2011 "Another hour and a half of greatness."
Bet there was some Kanye West and Jay-Z playing during this photo shoot
