Terri Dreger takes slopestyle, Molly Milligan takes rail jam at Billabong Flaunt It at Seymour

Billabong’s Flaunt It, an all girls snowboard tour across North America hit Mt. Seymour in Vancouver this past weekend. Over 30 girls came out to participate on Saturday, Mar. 7th in the slopestyle and rail jam contests. After receiving 10 cms of snow the night before and with morning sunny skies, the Mt. Seymour park staff had the course in perfect soft park conditions for all the girls.   

The morning featured the slope style course, with the girls competing in an hour and a half jam session to see who could take home the cash and prizes.  The winner of each Flaunt slopestyle takes home cash and the coveted all expense paid trip to the Flaunt It series finals at Mt. Tremblant Mar. 28th, 2009.  With great conditions, the girls were throwing down tricks from everywhere.  In the end, it was Terri Dreger with her over nose slides on the box, to Back 3 Tails to huge Backside 5s on the final jump that boosted her to the top of the podium. Second place went to Molly Milligan, with Tara Jane Hickey rounding out the podium.

After a BBQ lunch, all the girls were back to tackle the rail set up for the afternoon jam session. All the girls had an hour to impress the judges in the best trick format. Molly Milligan again showed why she is a force to be reckoned with, throwing down several different tricks and variations on the rails and boxes. It was her Switch Backside 180 to Fakie on the down box though that sealed the win for her. Cayley Vanular’s Front Board to Fakie on the down rail brought her the second place spot, with Randa Shahin’s Tail 270-out locking in third place.

Billabong’s Flaunt It tour continues this coming weekend, Mar. 14th, at Sierra-at-Tahoe, CA.  This will be the last stop on the tour before the tour finals at Mt. Tremblant, Mar. 27th-28th.
