Those that persevered the first few days of inclement weather were rewarded with a warm sunny park for the rest of Roxy Week at Camp of Champions. Timing their arrival just right, Ontario Roxy am, Samm Denena, and freeskier, Zoya Lynch, joined the current posse of Erin Comstock, Robin Van Gyn, Ty Walker, Marie-Andree Racine and Joanie Robichaud. Full house. Full on good times.
We learned that backflips are contagious and once one camper does one then some sort of flippy chain reaction occurs. They did them on the snow, on the air bag, on the inflatable Roxy ottoman… essentially any feature high enough to flip off. But with jumps and jibs in perfect shape everyone got down to some serious snow business. After a 'serious' day of 'work' the girls knew the most difficult task was ahead of them: The Roxy Scavenger Hunt!
The top team of 2 was rewarded with brand new Roxy 2012/2013 snowboards and a little pool party with Robin, Erin and an orca. The sun hung around the rest of the week and so did the great mood. The campers also had a chance to get crafty off-snow at the DIY t-shirt night and totally impressed us with their creativity. The jury is still out on whether the Roxy team had more fun or the campers. Save the date for next year's session at Camp of Champions!

The Roxy Scavenger Hunt required a tuft of Ken Achenbach's, founder and director of Camp of
Champions, hair. Gutsy request on the camper's part, generous move on low-on-hair-Ken's part.
