We're not birds, we're snowboarders, so we should ignore the birds and stick with our own migration patterns. Summer has finally arrived, but it hasn't been kind. In Toronto summer has brought sticky, sweaty, 40 degree temperatures and crazy humidity, while Vancouver has had nothing but rain. The solution to our sad-excuse-of-a-summer lies in a region approximately 12,500 kilometers to the south. I'll give you some more clues: two countries where people drive on the wrong side of the road and play rugby exceptionally well. Yes, Australia and New Zealand. Make like a pro and get there pronto before our weather makes you lose your mind. And keep your eye on the Women's Annual site for upcoming interviews from Aussie and Kiwi girls who promise to give us the inside scoop on their snowboard scene. For now check this out for all the information you'll need to plan your trip.

Today was the Fiesta de la Pipa! It was by far the best spring day I've had yet! Mammoth had a sweet setup with wallrides, pinatas, cats, and lift towers to jib all the way down the pipe. Everyone was killing it. Chaz was going huge, Jamie was flipping, Luke Mitrani was double-flipping and everyone was having a good day. Only one piñata got broken by the lovely Luke Wynen. The BBQ was eaten by all as well as the sweet Vans waffles, all at the bottom of the pipe! Who could ask for anything more?

Last month during the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival, Bev was crowned the champ of Whistler Blackcomb’s “If Ullr Was a Girl” contest after competing in four events (including one in which she rapped) and was handed a cheque for $25,000. An RV trip from Big Bear to Mammoth to Sierra At Tahoe to ride the best parks in California all the while traveling in the Billabong RV with a fridge stacked with Sambazon Smoothies seemed like a fun and easy mission to do with a good crew of pros. Little did I know things could go so wrong. From injuries, being stranded on the side of the road, a hospital visit, rider's bailing, fights, tears and even an emergency dentist appointment who could have known the trip could get so complicated!? The one part of our trip that wasn’t complicated were the resorts; we wanted to check out and ride the best snowboard parks in California and they didn’t disappoint! With epic parks and accommodating park staff at every resort that catered to our every need—pimping out features and giving us sled rides—we couldn’t ask for anything more.

Dedicated to women and snowboarding, the Snowboard Canada Women’s Annual is back for round two. After last year’s debut success was received to cheers and praise across the shred world, no time was wasted going back to the drawing board to improve the sophomore follow-up: 196 inspiring pages that reach out to women’s snowboarding.
With covergirl Annie Boulanger airing in front of a punchy, bright-green logo, the 2008 annual is poised to be a newsstand sell-out. Inside, we left nothing stale for the passionate readership the magazine has already established. So dive in.
Our expanded feature well is anchored by a 10-page interview with snowboard superstar, Marie-France Roy. We take a look at the building blocks today’s hottest riders put in place to be amongst the best.
But wait, there’s more: Roberta Rodger takes a crew of up-and-comers from Whistler to Mt. Hood on a two-week cross-border road trip, Alexis Waite brings us behind the scenes into the triumphs and stresses of the Winter X Games, and we showcase the portfolios of four female photographers past and present.
Look for an updated look and feel, new departments, captivating photos, and more fashion pages highlighting the season’s must-have outerwear, streetwear, accessories and hardgoods. From riding tips to useful how-to’s and fitness training to backcountry advice, this year’s issue opens up with a women’s snowboarding history timeline and is chock-full of the high quality content our readers have come to expect at every step along the way.
