The closer for the 6-10 week snowboard school went off at Beaver Valley February 26 weekend. Bonanza was the appropriate word as the day had so many activities it was one pony ride away from a local fair.
A slopestyle jam for the coveted Queen of the Park consumed the morning putting school against school with Mel Maynard from Lakeridge winning 264 cans of Redbull, a years supply for most or a months for those fiends out there.
The fun train was in overdrive for the afternoon, fueled with Redbull, big air and the musical styling’s of Kesha playing loud throughout the BBQ zone. Bystanders and parents watched in awe as the girls sent off backflips and spins into the Acrobag.
More competitions took place, prizes were won, it rained product and the crew left to prepare for the afterparty held at the latest and greatest addition to Collingwood’s bar scene, Casbah. Drinks were poured, champagne was toasted and nachos were devoured as the girls danced the night away and celebrated all of the tricks stomped across the province this winter.
Thanks to the seasons supporters: Kelly Etsell at Roxy along with Greg and Kyle from the Ontario office, all of the resorts and park staff, Dave and Allison at Redbull as well as Clean Start and SBC Women, and of course all of the girls and women who came out every week to push their limits!
