How I Spent My Summer Vacation:

The end of my winter season ended with an awesome snowboard trip to Riksgransen, Sweden followed by a sweet vacation to Helsinki, Finland.
The Roxy team did one last trip for our team video to Riksgransen. It’s in the very north of Sweden right on the border of Norway. I highly suggest heading there for a snowboarding trip. The weather wasn’t the greatest, but when the sun does come out there are so many cool areas to build jumps, hips, or drops. I was so impressed with the terrain. Plus you sled to everything—no hiking! It was awesome. The rental place sets you up with a 550-Trail Blazer. And at this time of year the sun is up 20 hours a day leaving you with just a faded light for sleeping. Because it is light out for most of the day the lakes get soft and slushy and in spots melted right out. I’d have to say I had the most fun sledding across the lakes. Sleds go pretty well on water, and if you do sink in, which Lexi did, you only go about 16 inches then before hitting another four feet of ice. I would have to say this was one of my favourite trips.
After two weeks in Sweden, I flew to Helsinki Finland for 10 days. I went to visit Heikki my boyfriend and some of my other friends. It was so refreshing to go there after Sweden. It was sunny, green and there were lots of flowers. The parks were full of people hanging out with friends. It was the perfect vacation I had been waiting for and NO SNOW!
While I was in Finland we went and saw Pirates of the Carribean on opening day—super good movie to watch. We also went to Estonia. It’s a two-hour boat ride from Helsinki and it was just 30 Euros per person. Estonia was such a cool city; the buildings are super old and the streets were made of stone. The best part about going to Estonia was that we happened to see the Emperor of Japan and the president of Estonia. That was super random but cool to see. The only other two things I did while I was there was shop and sleep. I love vacations.
