MGT Snowboard Camp hits Mt. Norquay
MGT Snowboard Camp infiltrated Banff's Mt. Norquay this past weekend. This jam-packed, sold-out session hosted 45 riders from all across Canada who came out to get rad with the MGT crew for two days of epic park riding. With coaches like Desiree Melancon, Colleen Quigley, Raewyn Reid and other MGT rippers in tow, and a perfected terrain park sculpted by none other than Jeff Patterson himself, riders were stoked to get out there and get stompy.
The sun shone and the weather was warm so slushy-ish landings were there for the taking, and they got took. Campers and coaches were charging the big jumps, spinning to win in the rail park, and tail-blocking and hand-planting the hip. I am pretty sure there were a few twister twister spreads in the mix as well. It was a weekend of MGT domination in the Mt.Norqauy terrain park; there were pom poms and pigtails everywhere you looked… it was rad. Lunch time was a BBQ and T-shirt fiesta on the hot patio, but getting the girls to park the ketchup and get back out to rip the park was no task.
Coaches reported all-time progression from their respective groups and with thanks to our sponsors, all the campers went home with some prodi and enough stickers to build a house. The weekend was a complete success Thanks to all the campers who came out and helped MGT once again spread the shred.
Next up is layering the sunscreen in preparation for the inaugural MGT summer camp sessions at High Cascade Snowboard Camp at Mount Hood, OR and South America Snow Sessions in Bariloche, Argentina.
