Mercedes’ Winter Update
Boy oh boy am I tired! I just got back from Korea, Japan and Calgary—woo!
I went to Korea for a wonderful World Cup, then to Japan for some pow turns with the Flow boys. I had a blast! We headed up to Furano and bumped into the Oakley girls. We spent three nights at the lovely Prince Hotel, you can’t go wrong with that! The first day of riding we headed up to the highest mountain in Hokkaido, Asahidake. There is only one tram on the whole mountain, but it is a volcano and once you get up there you can see the smoke venting out.
I want to mention that the hotel is on a ski resort that we didn’t even touch! The next couple days, well, for the rest of the trip, we found stuff off the road. I got a nice butt from all the hiking! After Furano we headed back to Sapporo for the last three days; it ended up snowing so we got some sweet pow turns in. Oh and I can’t forget the bestest sushi I’ve ever had, I’d go back just for that! Mmmm. Next stop is Calgary for another World Cup, it was a nice break going to Japan, but now it’s contest time again.
