Snowboard Canada Women’s Annual reader wins Burton Because of Snowboarding Contest

Snowboard Canada Women’s Annual reader Alaura Ewen of BC won the grand prize for the Burton Because of Snowboarding contest. Her loot includes the following: a package for two to Winter Park Resort including roundtrip airfare, resort lodging for five days, lift tickets and lessons. The approximate total value is $4,500. Because of snowboarding... The alarm goes off at 6:00 am. I don't press snooze, no matter how late I was up the night before. If I know that it is going to be a powder day, chances are I'll be so stoked that I'll be awake before my alarm goes off and I will probably skip lunch. Because of snowboarding… I have scars, I have bruises, I have best friends, I talk to police about how it's illegal to "snowboard on handrails", I live for powder bluebird days. Because of snowboarding... I am always happy because unlike pets, or money, I know I'll never lose snowboarding because it's a part of me.
